OK, so nowadays it seems that time travel is slowly being given a bit more credence by senior scientists and researchers and it is now a generally accepted scientific fact that time travel is at least possible under the laws of physics.
Given any intelligent alien race would potentially be millions or even billions of years ahead of humanity in the evolution process, the likelihood is that, if there is intelligent life out there, they probably have some form of time travelling ability, and they likely use it almost as a mode of transportation to get around the galaxies and cover the vast distances involved.
As humans, we've already discovered that it is possible to "time travel" in limited, very small ways - see what NASA tells kids:
If humans with their limited intellect (on an evolutionary scale) are able to work this out, to me it's kinda scary to consider what the extra-terrestrials might be able to do!

Yes, time travel is indeed a real thing. But it's not quite what you've probably seen in the movies. Under certain conditions, it is possible to experience time passing at a different rate than 1 second per second. And there are important reasons why we need to understand this real-world form of time travel.
