Will AARO gets cut by DOGE?

I hope not.

I worry about several agencies and departments. Right now, I just want to know the FCC will be around since I just got my ham license. But that isn't my biggest concern.

Departments like the AARO should be at least picked up by a private philanthropist. But to cut it would be just plain stupid.

Cutting anything that threatens ham radio is IMO stupid.

Ham radio is a significant asset to smaller communities for emergency management and response.

I'd hope they wouldn't be that dumb otherwise, I'd be suspicious of their real intentions.

At least most all of the amateur radio fcc services (except issuing licenses) are performed by volunteers as well as well as most of the repeater infrastructure. Ham clubs do more than just chat on the radio. They are the industry, they don't just support it. With exception to the fcc regulations, amateur radio is virtually independent and self supporting.
