The resolutions are getting better and better.
I make YouTube videos and have been for 8 years. I mainly just use 4K because that's what everyone is watching with, heck most people are probably still 1080p. I have 5K options on the cameras I use but haven't quite graduated to that.
My editing computer could handle it. I have 500 GB SD cards, so space isn't an issue but the overall, who is watching it in 5K or higher is why I usually don't use that resolution.

Agree, and the vid above is 12k! It may be a couple years before I upgrade to that level.
I just started filming in 5K, but I'll render it in 4K just to make it a little crisper because like I said, who the heck has a 5K screen? LOL
