If you were confronted by a benevolent alien and could ask just one question, what would it be?

The question cannot ask for some type of intervention of any type, and cannot be an asking for something physical. Not even a simple ride on their craft.

But what would you want to know?



I think I would want to know about the known civilizations in the universe from their perspective.

I'd ask if it would be possible for humans to get to other inhabited worlds in my lifetime.

I would ask, “What fundamental truths about the universe are we still blind to?” Their answer could redefine physics, consciousness, or existence itself. Understanding what we are missing could accelerate human progress.

That is if we are able to comprehend their technology. It may be to the point of appearing mystical, magical, or religious to the simple-minded humans.

I think that's what it would be, too. It would be like seeing God with human eyes which would make us go insane or not be able to live through it.
