I remember when Hale-Bopp came through the night sky. We'd go out and watch it, and from the naked eye, you could kind of see its tail.
The cult Heaven's Gate claimed a UFO was arriving in relation to the comet. In 1997, members of the cult partook in a mass suicide, thinking aliens would come to get them.
